June Favourites

june beauty favourites shannon lawlor

Summer has arrived people – June is out and July is (nearly) in! As I write this, it’s really bloody hot. Like so so hot. Because British Summertime has actually delivered, it means my June favourites all have a bit more of a summery vibe to them this month. So, go pour yourself a piña colada/mojito/Aperol, lounge out in the sunshine and read all about what I’ve been loving beauty wise this month.

Giorgio Armani Prima Instant Off Cleanser

So the Armani Prima Instant Off Oil-in-Gel Cleanser has been sat in my collection for a little while now but it just looked too good to touch – yano what I’m saying? Those products you don’t ever want to use because they’re just too good for you? One of them. Anyway, a few weeks ago I had an epiphany and thought if I don’t think I’m good enough for this level of bouj then I am not the girl I once was. And with that I used it and haven’t looked back.

If you didn’t know, it’s really hot, so I don’t want anything too heavy on my skin morning and night. What I want is this: a watery/oily gel consistency that I apply to a dry face and emulsify with a teeny bit of water to remove stubborn makeup. At first I was dubious because it smells quite gorge which means it’s usually a shocker on my skin, but it’s gentle, non-drying, non-irritating and I can use it on my eyes with care. All in all, a total win this month.

Lancôme Hydra Zen Anti-Stress Moisturising Rich Cream

This moisturiser has got me more skin compliments in the last month than I have received in my whole life. Lancôme Hydra Zen for dry skin is a pot of thick, rich, pink magic. It’s just jam-packed with good stuff for your skin; Hyaluronic Acid, Ceramides, Glycerol, I can’t put into words just how much this has transformed my skin. Also, the fragrance combats stress and I just rly need that. Basically I look healthy. Which is an actual miracle and why this moisturiser could actually become a lifelong fave.

Glossier Boy Brow

Alright, alright, I know that this is like always one of my favourites, but hear me out. Glossier Boy Brow is basically all I have relied on to keep my face looking put together this month. It’s too clammy for foundation and almost too hot for concealer. One swipe of this through my brows and I’m pretty much good to go. For anyone that hasn’t use it, there’s really very little like it. It’s not a gel, more of a pomade and it really holds your brows in place, adding thickness and fluffiness without leaving them crunchy.

London Grace

(Not pictured because I’ve cut my hand on a tupperware, lol)

Next up are the London-based nail bars London Grace – a fairly recent discovery for me, but not for everyone else it seems.  A few months ago I desperately needed a manicure on a bank holiday Monday. Low and behold, most places were closed except for this lil gem in Angel. The rest is history and I’ve been rocking Shellac every since. Not only has every manicure I’ve had been absolutely bleedin’ fantastic (I’ve also checked out the Putney branch which was equally as good and there are more dotted about), you can also sip on delicious cocktails whilst having a natter with the mega babes that work in there. Oh, and it’s affordable. That is all.

Guerlain Terracotta Route des Îles Tan Enhancing Bronzer

This Limited Edition of Guerlain’s Terracotta is basically untouchable. In fact, I’m probably going to go out and buy them up. Before writing this, I must admit, I didn’t know that it was labelled ‘Tan Enhancing’ but my bleedin’ god does it stay true to its word. If you’ve seen my recent IGTV (yeah I’m really down with the new tech btw), you’ll have seen that I basically apply this EVERYWHERE. Contour, highlight and every kind of makeup know-how goes out of the window. I’ve been unable to get out in the sun for more than five minutes so far this year but that hasn’t stopped people asking if I’ve been on holiday. And it’s all thanks to this. Housed in a gorge compact made with wood from sustainably managed forests, it’s a real winner for me.

Lancôme Custom Drops Liquid Highlighter in Golden Glow

When I first saw these Custom Highlight Drops from Lancôme I must admit that I thought little of them as I asked myself what could really set them apart from any other highlight drop available. Turns out, quite a lot. Although the formula looks a little shimmery, it is 100% not. In fact, it gives the most insane glow with what seems like almost no shimmer. Along the cheek bones, down the nose and over the brow bone, these drops answer every single one of my highlight prayers. Just dewy, healthy, bronzed goodness. I want to bathe in the stuff.

Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream

Shocker! No, Brazilian Bum Bum Cream does absolutely not give you a Brazilian butt. My butt is still in its usual state, if not a little bigger with thanks to my new found love, Pastaio. However, this body cream does smell in-cred-ible. Like summer in a tub. I’ve had this open since last summer and I still have loads left – a little goes a long way. Worth noting that I don’t apply this over my whole body, just my legs and my butt. It’s got a pretty severe shimmer in it which I’m all about when it comes to my legs, but not my hands and my neck if ya feel me. It’s creamy, thick and bloody marvellous.

Glossier Coconut Balm Dotcom

If you know me, you know I’m a big fan of coconut. Yep, I’m that gal that hoovers up the Bounty from the boxes of Celebrations post-Christmas. So, when I had to purchase a new Boy Brow a couple of weeks ago, I thought I’d give the Coconut Balm Dotcom from Glossier a go. Turns out, I can’t get enough. I already knew that I quite liked the Balm Dotcom formula (thick and nourishing without any stickiness), but I really wasn’t expecting to love the scent of this quite so much. It’s seriously tropical but without being overpowering. It’s a summer saviour for sure.

And that’s it! It seems a little more like a summer faves than a June Favourites, but we’re not there yet! I’m sure July and August will hold even more Club Tropicana vibes! What have you been loving this month? Any more tropical/summery suggestions for me? I’m all ears!

You may have noticed that I missed out on May faves last month (it was a busy one), but if you fancy seeing what I was loving in April, the picks are all still pretty relevant so go check those April Faves out.
